Secret Code
The code-breaking classic. Guess the hidden row of colors; after each try you see how many pegs are the right color in the right place (dark) and how many are the right color in the wrong place (light).
Crack the penguin's code, or let a friend set one for you. Harder levels add colors, repeats and fewer tries.
How to play
- Guess the hidden row of colors.
- After each guess, a dark peg means a right color in the right place; a light peg means a right color in the wrong place.
- Use the clues to crack the code before you run out of tries.
A bit of history
It descends from Bulls and Cows, a much older pencil-and-paper game with numbers. The board-game version with colored pegs appeared in 1970.
