Mancala
One of the oldest board games in the world. Pick up all the stones in one of your pits and sow them one by one around the board.
Finish in your store to play again, or land in an empty pit on your side to capture the stones across from it. The fullest store wins.
How to play
- Pick a pit on your side and sow its stones one by one, counterclockwise, into the next pits and your store.
- If your last stone lands in your store, play again.
- If it lands in an empty pit on your side, capture it and the stones across from it. The fullest store at the end wins.
A bit of history
Mancala is a family of "sowing" games played across Africa, the Middle East and Asia for well over a thousand years. This version, Kalah, was popularized in the United States in the 1940s and 50s.
