Checkers
Checkers with the classic rules: move diagonally forward, jumping is mandatory and jumps can chain. Reach the far side to crown a king that moves both ways.
Play the penguin, from friendly to tough, or a friend on the same screen.
How to play
- Move a piece one square diagonally forward onto an empty dark square.
- Jump over an opponent's piece to capture it. Jumps are mandatory and can chain.
- Reach the far row to crown a king, which moves forward and backward. Capture or block all opposing pieces to win.
A bit of history
Checkers (draughts) has been played in Europe since around the 12th century. In 2007 a computer program proved that perfect play from both sides always ends in a draw.
