Penguin Push
A box-pushing puzzle on a little toy board. Hop the penguin square by square and push every snow block onto a ring.
Fifty levels, from a one-move warm-up to real head-scratchers, each one with its own colors. Clear a level to unlock the next. There are no walls: the board itself has the shape of each puzzle, with holes in the middle. Each level shows the fewest moves it can be solved in, so you can go back and beat your record.
Also known as: Sokoban, box pushing puzzle
How to play
- Move the penguin one square at a time.
- Walk into a snow block to push it. You can only push, never pull, and only one at a time.
- Put every block on a ring, or reach your friend, to clear the level.
- The board ends at its edge and at the holes: blocks cannot go there. Stuck? Undo a step or restart.
A bit of history
Box-pushing puzzles come from Sokoban ("warehouse keeper" in Japanese), created by Hiroyuki Imabayashi and published in 1982.
