Dots & Boxes
The pencil-and-paper classic. Take turns drawing a line between two dots; close the fourth side of a box and it is yours, and you draw again.
Play the penguin, who gets sneakier on harder levels, or pass the device to a friend.
How to play
- Take turns drawing one line between two neighboring dots.
- Close the fourth side of a box and it's yours: you score and draw again.
- When every line is drawn, the player with the most boxes wins.
A bit of history
The game was first described in print by the French mathematician Édouard Lucas in 1889. It hides surprisingly deep strategy about long chains of boxes.
