Bobail
A small abstract strategy game on a 5×5 board. Each turn you nudge the green Bobail one step, then slide one of your pieces as far as it will go.
Get the Bobail into your own home row to win, or trap it so your opponent cannot move it.
How to play
- First turn: just slide one of your pieces.
- After that, each turn: move the green Bobail one step in any direction, then slide one of your pieces as far as it goes in a straight line.
- Get the Bobail into your own home row (the row your pieces started on), or trap it so your opponent can't move it.
A bit of history
Bobail is often described as an African game, but its exact origin is unknown; it is closely related to Neutron, an abstract game published in 1978.
